Meet Your Principal

Mrs. Charity Grieshaber is a dedicated and community-driven educator who believes in the power of connection, compassion, and creativity to foster student success. She steps into her first year as Principal at Scholarship Prep Oceanside, bringing with her 17 years of experience in education, including three years as the school's counselor, where she played an instrumental role in supporting student well-being and academic achievement.

Mrs. Grieshaber holds a Master’s in Education, Counseling & Guidance, as well as a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University. Her expertise in student support services, combined with her deep understanding of campus culture, positions her as a strong leader ready to continue building a positive and thriving school community.

Before becoming a credentialed school counselor, Mrs. Grieshaber spent 10 years as classified staff in local school districts, gaining valuable experience in school operations and student engagement. Her ongoing commitment to professional development has led her to pursue training in trauma-informed and restorative practices, ensuring that students at Scholarship Prep Oceanside receive an equitable and supportive education.

A lifelong San Diego resident, Mrs. Grieshaber currently resides in San Marcos with her husband, Josh, and their three children: Jude (15), Johannes (5), and Hazel (2). In her free time, she enjoys adventuring outdoors, creating art, and cooking. She is honored to lead Scholarship Prep Oceanside and is excited to work alongside talented educators, dedicated families, and inspiring students to build a school community where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.

Dr. Nicholas Sessions brings over 15 years of experience in public education, spanning secondary teaching, college instruction, and charter school leadership. His career began in higher education, teaching college writing courses after earning both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English from Kansas State University. He later transitioned to K-12 education through Teach For America in Las Vegas while earning a Master of Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Recently, Dr. Sessions earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton.

Dr. Sessions has served as an education leader at three different organizations, consistently driving academic growth and achievement. Before joining Scholarship Prep, he spent six years at Edward B. Cole Sr. Academy in Santa Ana, where he held roles as Principal and later Executive Director.

Born in North Carolina, Dr. Sessions moved frequently during his childhood, living in Alabama, Hawaii, Japan, and Germany due to his father’s service in the United States Marine Corps. His diverse upbringing shaped his passion for education and community engagement.

Since joining Scholarship Prep, Dr. Sessions has demonstrated a strong commitment to instructional excellence and school culture. In his first year as Principal of Scholarship Prep Oceanside, he has led efforts to enhance targeted instruction, nurture meaningful collaboration, and strengthen communication with the school community, contributing to a 100-student enrollment increase.

Dr. Sessions is also a dedicated advocate for individuals with disabilities, serving as an Orange County Parent Representative for the Advocacy Group of OC and Autism Speaks Orange County. At home, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Charlee, and their three children: Gatsby (6), Marvelle (3), and Elowyn (5 mo.). Whether coaching his son’s soccer team, playing with his kids, or riding his motorcycle, Dr. Sessions brings the same energy and passion to his personal life as he does to his leadership at Scholarship Prep.
