Project Rest Assists Families Experiencing Homelessness with Hotel Stays up to Five Nights

As announced by San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) and San Diego Youth Services, students experiencing homelessness and their families are eligible to request a hotel stay for up to five nights at no cost through Project Rest.

To qualify for this service, students must be registered in school and qualify under McKinney Vento. Such students are individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence and are eligible for additional educational services through Title I, Part A, and/or the federal McKinney-Vento Assistance Act. Resources also include support for finding housing, emergency shelter, access to food pantries, transportation to school, and more. Project Rest Guidelines:

  • Applicant must have a valid ID card. No credit card is needed.
  • To request a stay, a parent/guardian must contact Victor Carcamo, 714-244-0240 or [email protected], to complete the application
  • Request preferred region of stay

Hotel Guidelines:

  • Respect all people and property in the building.
  • No use or possession of drugs, alcohol, weapons, or explicit materials of any kind.
  • No guests are allowed.
