Students were up out of their seats today during ELA to do an activity where there were questions around the classroom and they paired up to discuss and answer them on a sticky note. It was a success!

Such an exciting site to see Yale Scholars using the resources they gathered during their field trip last Friday to help them work on their PBL projects.

Yale had such a great time at Legoland today! It was great to see scholars learning and making observations of the park to incorporate into their PBL.

Today we tried a different writing technique during our quick writing session. A picture was put up on the board and students were asked to write what they took away from it. Students then found someone around the room and compared what they wrote. We had examples of scenes from different movies, students who focused on different different aspects of the picture and if they pictured a person on the island.

See's Candy Fundraiser!
Posted on January 16, 2019
Dear Families of SPCS Sixth Grade Students, We are excited to announce our newest fundraiser for the upcoming CIMI field trip in April! Both Team Notre Dame and Team Yale, have the opportunity to sell See's Candy items for a Valentine's Day Special! The company offers an amazing program, donating 50% of all sales to our sixth grade team! Students will have the opportunity to sell to their neighbors, family members, friends, parent's colleagues, and so forth. This is also a perfect opportunity to purchase gifts for loved ones during the special holiday! Each student will need to take responsibility for logging their orders correctly on the forms, and collecting checks or cash. Please submit orders to Mrs. Hunker no later than January 25th.
Hi my name is Molly Kamari and I am so excited to be joining the Scholarship Prep team as a 6th grade teacher! I believe education is a key that opens doors that would have otherwise been closed to individuals. As an educator, I pride myself on providing students with the confidence they need to succeed both academically and socially.
A vital component of being a great teacher is being a lifelong learner. My love for education grew with each degree I accomplished after High School. Growing up in Los Angeles, I completed my Associates Degree in Communication Studies at Citrus College. From there, I moved to San Diego where I continued my educational journey attending The University of San Diego for my Bachelors in Communication Studies then my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.
When I am not in my classroom, I enjoy spending time traveling, being with my family and friends, going to movies and playing with my dog Hank.
