We were honored to welcome San Diego County Office of Education’s Board Member Rick Shea to our campus for a special tour today. Mr. Shea spent valuable time with our Executive Director Jason Watts, Chief Academic Officer Taylor Ellis, Principal Jessica Leahy, and Coordinator of Student Services Victor Carcamo.

During his visit, Trustee Shea had the opportunity to explore some of the incredible initiatives we have in place to support our students' holistic development. One highlight was our classroom Calming Corners, designed to provide a peaceful space where students can regulate their emotions and prepare themselves for learning. Mr. Shea's interest in this aspect of our campus underscored the importance of prioritizing students' social-emotional well-being.

Additionally, we were thrilled to showcase our campus Resource Center, which acts as the hub of our family support services. This Center ensures that all Scholarship Prep students have access to essential resources like healthy snacks, school supplies, and hygiene items, removing barriers to learning and promoting a supportive environment for every student.

We're incredibly grateful to Board Member Shea for his genuine interest in our work and his commitment to education. His visit served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration and advocacy in creating positive outcomes for students.
