Hello, I am so excited to be a member of the founding faculty here at Scholarship Prep Charter School - Oceanside. I grew up in the Tri-City area and attended Casita Elementary, Washington Middle School and graduated from RBV in Vista. I received my BA in Child Development with an emphasis in Family Studies from Humboldt State University.
My husband and I then moved to Truckee, Ca (a complete shock to someone who has lived on the coast her entire life) and I attended Sierra Nevada College in the beautiful Incline Village, Lake Tahoe. I received a K-8 Multiple Subjects Teacher's Credential and began teaching Kindergarten at Verdi Elementary. My passion for teaching the "littles" began.
Although we loved living in the Reno/ Tahoe area, I missed my family. We moved back to the area in 2009. My husband and I have two daughters, one a freshman at Mission Vista High School and one in fifth grade here at Scholarship Prep. We have two spoiled dogs, one playful cat and seven chickens. We live in the Vista foothills and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy nature; going to the beach and walking amongst the Redwood Forest are at the top of my list. I love the smell of rain, a new book, barbecue and fresh cut grass. I also enjoy star gazing and playing with my dogs. I love to travel and eat good food.
I really enjoy being a Kindergarten Teacher. It keeps me connected to the simple wonders of our world that are easy to see past as life becomes more complicated. I have high expectations for my students and teach them to respect themselves, others and their education. I strive to create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom for my scholars.
