Dear Scholarship Prep Parents and Families,

This year, Scholarship Prep will host our first school-wide Literature Day event on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Students are invited to take part in a school-wide parade to celebrate literacy and reading by transforming into a character from their favorite book.

Students must first receive permission from their classroom teacher regarding the book and character they will represent.  Once confirmed, our Scholars should come to school with the book they have selected and dressed as the character they have chosen.

We encourage students and parents to be creative with their costumes and to brainstorm ways that you can use items already in your home (ex. sheets, boxes, poster board, clothes, etc.). There are also many ideas on the Internet, or feel free to ask teachers for assistance. This will be a fun day for our Scholarship Prep students to participate and show their love of reading and creativity.

Our Literature Day Parade will begin at 8:30am on Tuesday, October 31st.  All parents are welcome to attend, and we recommend arriving for the parade no later than 8:15 a.m. Students will be directed by their classroom teachers regarding the parade direction and what to do. Please see your child’s teacher for more information.

All students must get their book/character approved by their teacher no later than Monday, October 23rd.

All students are expected to participate in book component-grade and must come dressed in uniform if not in book character costume.

Estimados padres y familias de Scholarship Prep, Este año, Scholarship Prep celebrará su evento de día de literatura en toda la escuela el martes 31 de octubre de 2017. Los estudiantes están invitados a participar en un desfile escolar para celebrar  la lectura al transformarse en un personaje de su libro favorito. Los estudiantes primero deben recibir permiso de su maestro de clase con respecto al libro y el personaje que representarán. Una vez confirmados, nuestros estudiantes deben venir a la escuela con el libro que han seleccionado y vestido como el personaje que han elegido. Animamos a los estudiantes y padres a ser creativos con sus disfraces y a generar ideas sobre maneras en que puede usar artículos que ya están en su hogar (por ejemplo, hojas, cajas, cartulina, ropa, etc.). También hay muchos ideas en el Internet, o siéntase libre de pedirle ayuda a los maestros. Este será un día divertido para que nuestros estudiantes de Scholarship Prep participen y muestren su amor por la lectura y la creatividad. Nuestro desfile del Día de la Literatura comenzará a las 8:30 a.m. el martes 31 de Octubre. Todos los padres están invitados a asistir, y recomendamos llegar al desfile antes de las 8:15 a.m. Los estudiantes serán dirigidos por sus maestros con respecto a la dirección del desfile y qué hacer. Por favor vea al maestro de su hijo para más información. Todos los estudiantes deben obtener su libro / carácter aprobado por su maestro a más tardar el lunes 23 de Octubre. Se espera que todos los estudiantes participen en el grado de componente del libro y deben venir vestidos con uniforme, si no en el traje del personaje del libro. ¡Estamos ansiosos por ver todos los personajes literarios creativos el 31 de Octubre!
